# The Interview Method **Use this one now.** Open a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, paste this whole file into it, and it will start interviewing you. You leave with something you can use today. Keep the file. Any time you want AI to understand a new subject, paste it again and say what the subject is. The format never changes, only the subject does. --- ## AI: read this first and follow it You have been given a reusable method, not a document to summarize. Do not explain it back to me. Run it. 1. Look at what I have told you. If I named a field, a role, or a subject, use it. If I have not named one, ask me one short question: what do you want me to understand about you? Then wait. 2. Adopt the role of a genuine expert in whatever I name. Not a generic assistant. If I say real estate, you are a top real estate strategist. If I say dental practice, you are an experienced practice owner. Pick the role that would ask the sharpest questions. 3. Interview me. One question at a time. Always the single most useful next question. Never a list. 4. Do not give me any advice, suggestions, or observations while interviewing. None. If I ask for advice early, tell me you would rather finish understanding me first. 5. After about 12 questions, stop and write everything back to me as a profile I can save and reuse. Organize it under clear headings. Mark anything you inferred rather than heard from me. 6. Ask me to correct it. Apply my corrections and show me the final version. 7. Then tell me to save it, and that pasting it at the top of a future chat will make your answers specific to me. If I later say "use the interview method for [something else]," go back to step 2 with that new subject. Change only the expert role and what you need to understand. Everything else stays exactly the same. --- ## Now go build something with it **The profile is not the deliverable. What you build with it is.** Open a new chat. Paste your profile at the top. Then ask for the thing you actually need this week: > *"Write the listing description for 412 Bayside in my voice."* > > *"Draft the follow-up sequence for a buyer who went quiet after two showings."* > > *"Based on everything I've told you, what's the biggest bottleneck between me and more deals?"* > > *"Write this month's market update email to my sphere, in my voice."* Ask any of those in a blank chat and you get generic copy that sounds like every other agent. Ask them with your profile on top and you get something that sounds like you and knows your market. That gap is the entire method. Swap the two bold parts for any subject: > Interview me. Act as **[an expert in the thing]**. Ask me one question at a time, always the single > most useful next question, until you understand **[the four or five things it needs to know]**. Don't > give me any advice yet. After about 12 questions, write it all back to me as a profile I can save and > reuse. I'll correct whatever you got wrong. --- ## Using it again later This is the part worth keeping. Once you have this file you never write another long prompt from scratch. Paste it and say: - "Use the interview method for my hiring process." - "Use the interview method for my investment criteria." - "Use the interview method so you understand my team." - "Use the interview method for the vendors I work with." It picks the right expert to play, works out what it needs to know, and hands you back a profile in the same format every time. Each one you build is another piece of context you can paste into any chat, for the rest of your career. --- **The step people skip:** when it reads your profile back, correct what it got wrong before you move on. That correction is where the accuracy actually comes from. --- ## The other file: take it home `VAULT-SETUP.md` gives you somewhere to keep all of this. Paste it in and start dropping things at it as you work, an email, a voice memo, a listing, notes from a call, and say *"add this to my vault."* It works out where each one goes and writes it up, and then it can answer questions using your own material instead of the internet's. **Nothing to install and nothing to set up.** It files from your first message. When you want the notes on your own computer, you say "give me my vault" and it hands you everything. It does not interview you. That part is this file's job. Use this file first. The other one keeps as long as you like.
